Eat Play Dress

Jacket: Joe Fresh, Shirt: Everlane, Jeans: Old Navy, Purse: Stella McCartney, Shoes: Sam Edelman, Watch: Michele, Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren
When I was shopping, I was immediately drawn to this jacket for its crochet detail and metallic coating. I already own a variety of different jackets/cardigans, so I really try to only buy ones that add something different to my wardrobe and this one does just that. Plus, it’s great to wear now with jeans and will work with shorts, dresses, and even jumpsuits when the weather warms up.

sophia webster for Jcrw

This week Jcrew debuted it’s shoe collaboration with Sophia Webster and the whole collection is AMAZING! Sophia Webster is known for her playful and whimsical designs and these shoes embody just that. With lots of color and patterns, these shoes are definite showstoppers. While I like all the shoes in the collection, if I had to pick a favorite pair it would have to be the Poppy style above. I love the geometric style and classic black and white color palette. To see the entire collection, you can check it out here on the Jcrew website. What’s your favorite pair?

It was officially spring over a month ago, but only in the last week has it truly begun to feel like spring. With the weather consistently hitting the 60s during the day and flowers in full bloom all around the city, it’s time for my spring to-do list.

1. Truly go through my closet and donate the items I no longer wear
2. Indulge myself with some gorgeous spring blooms on a weekly basis
3. Take a picnic in the park
4. Read more books for leisure
5. Take advantage of the in-season strawberries at the farmer’s market
6. Ride a bike along the river
7. Do a weekend trip outside the city

Dress: Parker (sadly, no as discounted), Shoes: Schutz (similar), Clutch: MNO.logie, Watch: Michele, Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren
Have you ever had one of those meant to be shopping experiences? This dress was one of those. I saw this dress in a store a couple months ago an immediately fell in love with it. It was out of my budget, so I decided I would keep an eye on it in case the price came down. After some time the price finally dropped on one website, but not by as much as I wished it would. With only my size left in stock, I was not sure if I wanted to pay that much for the dress and decided to wait. Luckily I waited, as in the morning because of a sale the dress came down almost $100 more. Still with only my size in stock, I quickly bought the dress before it sold out and then proceeded to do a little happy dance as I had finally gotten my dress and at a fraction of the price.

Budget Purse//Covet Purse// Budget Skirt//Covet Skirt
Let’s talk about the current perforated trend. The trend was all over the runways and now is being incorporated into all kinds of silhouettes in stores. The best thing about this trend is that both high-end designers like Chloe to stores like Zara are incorporating it into their current collections, so it can be found at a variety of price points to fit anyone’s budget. Above are two of my favorite takes on the trend at different price points.

Dress: Banana Republic, Shoes: Jcrew, Purse: Alexander Wang, Watch: Michele, Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren
When I think of Easter, I always think of pastel colors and florals and often try to incorporate them when dressing for the holiday. This year though, I chose to skip the pastels and florals and wear this white dress. It was a nice departure from the norm as the all white outfit felt crisp and appropriate for the warm spring weather.

While this week has not felt particularly long, I am excited for the weekend to be here. My entire family will be in New York and it's always great to have everyone gathered together. We are only all together a couple times a year, so I always look forward to the holidays and times we get to spend together. I wish you all a fantastic weekend, and, if you are celebrating, a Happy Easter!

With Easter Sunday this coming weekend, I want to share one of my favorite things to serve with brunch - braided lemon bread. I came across this recipe years ago and it quickly became a favorite as the lemon curd and cream cheese filling create the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Best of all, it can be made in advance for a more hassle-free brunch.

Blazer: Target, Skirt: Jcrew, Cami: Jcrew, Shoes: Schutz (similar), Clutch: Clare Vivier, Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren
When it comes to my favorite pieces in my wardrobe, they are the classic pieces I wear over and over again. From a great blazer, to a wear-with-everything skirt, to a silk cami, it is pieces like these that get the most wear in my closet. Whenever I am running a blank on what to wear, I reach for these classic pieces and easily feel put together.

Shirt: Jcrew, Tank: Anthropologie, Pants: Old Navy, Flats: Banana Republic, Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren
Happy Monday All! The weather in New York this weekend was gorgeous! It felt like we skipped past Spring and moved straight to Summer and I am not complaining. With all this nice weather, I have been wanting to wear nothing but denim. My only issue is that I don't own a pair of denim shorts and have not for some years. I plan to invest in a pair this year and currently am leaning towards these ones from Jcrew or these from Gap. Either pair would be a perfect wardrobe addition for the summer months ahead.

This week has been one of the long ones so I couldn't be happier for the weekend. I plan to spend most of my weekend outside enjoying the beautiful weather as the temperature is suppose to reach the mid 60s in New York. I hope wherever you are the weather is just as good. Have a great weekend!

Sweater: Gap, Pants: Gap (similar), Necklace: Jcrew, Purse: Celine, Flats: Repetto, Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren, Watch: Michele, Lip Pencil: Nars Yu
I have never been much of a lip color person and instead often opt for a nude lip gloss. Ever since I bought this Nars lip pencil though I have been all about a bold, bright lip. It adds that pop of color to a neutral outfit and instantly makes me feel more pulled together. This bold, bright lip has become my new favorite accessory.
