I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend! I spent the majority of my weekend outside enjoying the gorgeous weather. From BBQing to spending the day at the park, it was a weekend full of just relaxing. Since the weather felt like summer, I wore lots of shorts and dresses all weekend soaked up the warmer temperatures. This crop top is a recent purchase and I can't get enough of it. Its playful polka dot print has made it a new favorite in my wardrobe.

glow pads
With this weekend being Memorial Day weekend, it marks the unofficial kickoff of summer. After a long winter and not so warm spring, I am looking forward to the the warm summer days ahead. However, my skin is not yet summer ready in its current pale state. To combat this, I picked these glow pads for my face and body and could not be happier with the results. They were easy to use and when I used them at night, I woke up with a sun kissed look perfect for summer. Have a great weekend!

There are lots of fun embellished sandals this season (these, these, and these to name a few), and I love the idea of a simple casual sandal all dressed up with embellishments. I decided to make a pair of my own using a slip on pair of sandals and some embellishments I picked up at M&J Trimming. Using just a little glue and some creativity, I made this pair and am already planning all the outfits I will wear them with (and contemplating making them in another color).

1354
What you’ll need:
-A pair of sandals, mine are from Joe Fresh, but these or these would work well
-E6000 Glue
-2 yards embellished trim (1 yard of each trim, if you plan to use two different ones or just a yard), mine can be found here and here
-Scissors (not pictured)
-Clamp paper clips (not pictured)

1371
Begin by cutting the trim to the length of the straps of the sandals. I cut mine a little longer than the length and then cut off any extra trim at the end.

1451
Starting on one sandal strap, apply a strip of glue across the strap where you plan to attach your trim.

479
After applying the glue, lay the trim across and press to hold in place.

487
Using clamp paper clips, place them along the trim while the glue sets to hold in place, around 5-10 minutes. Repeat the process for each of the straps on the sandals.

1493
Once the glue has set, trim any of the excess trim using a scissors.

The final product!

Dress: Jcrew, Clutch: American Apparel, Shoes: Zara, Bracelets: Jcrew, Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren
I have been a little MIA lately, but life has just been busy, busy. So let’s get right into it and talk about this dress. I use to never buy any yellow clothing until I was shopping for senior pictures in high school and fell in love with a BCBG yellow dress that I adored. I loved how the color was playful yet called for attention and ever since that one dress, yellow has been a favorite color when shopping.

Dress: Urban Outfitters, Clutch: Gap, Shoes: Jcrew, Watch: Michele, Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren
I wore this outfit over the weekend to Mother’s Day and I love the combo of my blush color clutch and ivory lace dress. The dress reminds me of this one from BCBG, but at a fraction of the cost. With a variety of color options and a fitted but perfectly loose, swingy look, I see it becoming a go-to for an easy, but more dressy look.

I am a little late to the trend of acai bowls, but after trying my first one only a couple weeks ago, I was hooked. They are similar to a yogurt parfait, except instead of yogurt, it’s a smoothie like blend. In mine, I paired frozen acai with bananas, and almond milk and topped it with fresh fruit and granola for an easy to make breakfast or snack.

matching prints copy
Top Left: Top and Shorts, Top Right: Top and Skirt, Bottom Left: Top and Skirt, Bottom Right: Top and Shorts
Prints are big right now and what better way to incorporate them into an outfit than dressing head-to-toe in the same print. I have been crushing on this trend a lot as of late and have picked out a couple of my favorite print outfits above. I love how versatile the matching separates are to wear, together like a romper or separate, and it’s hard not to like all the fun prints.

Jacket: HM (similar), Shirt: Jcrew, Jeans: Old Navy, Purse: Louis Vuitton, Flats: Repetto, Watch: Michele
I’m back. After a whirlwind of a week, I am finally back online. A lot of my time last week was spent searching for an apartment and the good news is we found one. So now, the fun part of decorating it can begin. I already have some ideas of the design aesthetic I want, remember this, but need to figure out what pieces and things will work best for the actual apartment space. It should be a fun process and I will be sure to share things along the way!
