The title of this blog post is not what you might think. I had actually planned to publish this outfit post two weeks ago, but then there was an sudden change in my life. My Dad was unexpectedly called to heaven. I am a pretty private person and generally focus on the positives and happy things on this blog, but felt I had to share this as it's a big loss for me and my family. While things are shifting in my personal life, I do plan to continue posting here. It just may be a little less often for the time being. I do hope to post things more regularly on Instagram, so you can always follow me there as well.
Happy Friday all! It's been a fun week here enjoying the snow and hoping for the ice to freeze on the canals. This morning and yesterday morning, there was some ice on the canals, so now I am just hoping it gets thick enough this weekend to skate on it! Fingers crossed! Wishing you all a fabulous weekend and a wonderful Valentine's Day!

To make the heart pancakes, I let some butter melt in the skillet then placed the mold on top and spooned in the pancake batter adding blueberries on the top of the pancake. Then once the pancake is almost ready to be flipped, I took a sharp knife around the edge to loosen any spots where the pancake was sticking to the mold. Remove the mold, flip the pancake, and cook until cooked through. Enjoy with maple syrup, berries, and even some whipped cream!
This outfit was inspired by this cream sweater. I immediately fell in love with the details on this sweater. The puff sleeve and eyelet are just so pretty. To mix things up, I paired the sweater with some flare jeans and think they add a slight retro vibe. This is an outfit that works now in the dead of winter and will still feel fresh come spring.

It snowed this weekend and it was magical! The snow started to fall Saturday evening and by Sunday morning there was a lovely blanket of snow across the city. The snow continued to fall on Sunday and I was giddy with excitement to go out and explore! We walked around our neighborhood and it was so beautiful with everything covered with snow from bikes to canal houses!
A snowfall like this does not happen often in The Netherlands. The last snowstorm happened over 10 years ago! Additionally, snow does not usually stay around for more than a day or two, but this snow is expected to stay around for at least a week because of the extra cold temperatures. These cold temperatures may even be enough to freeze the canals and allow people to skate on them. Oh what a sight that would be!

Happy Friday all! It was such a delight to come across these pink peonies at the market. Such a rare find in the middle of winter. Peonies are one of my favorite flowers and these ones have been bringing me so much joy. These peonies also make me hopeful that spring isn't too far away and warmer and longer days are soon to come. Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!
With warmer weather on the mind, this dress just came back in stock and is so good for spring/summer!

I love an outfit that mixes cream and camel tones and this look does just that! Keeping things in the same color palette makes this outfit feel modern and chic. It's a look that makes me wish I had something to dress up for, so I could wear it. Additionally, I love that while these pieces look fabulous together, they also are versatile pieces that easily pair well with other items. They are the neutral wardrobe staples that everyone should have in their closet.

Happy Friday All! It's hard to believe we are already at the end of January. One month into this new year and it still feels like we are in 2020, but we are slowly moving forward. It's important to stay positive. For me right now, I am staying positive by focusing on the little things bringing me joy. Whether it's some fresh flowers or an extra sunny day. With that, I wish you all a fantastic weekend!

Happy Wednesday all! I am excited to bring you this blue and black look this week! I love the print of this flowy skirt and the matching blue sweater brings some extra cheer to this outfit. This look is fresh and polished and I really attribute that to the sweater/skirt combo. More often than not, most turn to jeans to pair with a sweater, but a long, flowy skirt is a great way to change things up!
A classic camel coat is a wardrobe staple for me. It's timeless and will never go out of style. I have had this one for years and love the silhouette and versatility. It can be worn more casually with a wide collar or buttoned up for a more polished look (see bottom of post).
This coat is an investment, but the quality is amazing. The fabric is made of a wool/cashmere blend, no synthetics (so rare these days). Therefore, the fabric of this coat is going to last for a long time. It's not a piece that will need replacing winter after winter. Instead, it's a classic, quality piece that is worth the investment. It is a piece you will cherish and have in your closet forever.

Loved all the colorful coats at the inauguration!
Did you check out the new series I launched this week?

I am launching a new series today called "What To Wear Wednesday." In the series, I will post a new outfit collage every Wednesday inspired by my current favorite pieces. I think this series will give you a glimpse of what pieces I am loving as of late and how to style them, plus provide you with outfit inspiration from pieces you may already have in your closet.
With that, let's talk about this weeks outfit. I LOVE this look! It's chic and refreshing with it's muted, light tones. It feels fresh in the cold weather and like you are willing Spring to come though it is still freezing outside. It's what I wish I was wearing on this cold, overcast winter day.

Over the years, I have really come to invest in the sweaters I buy. Rather than buying trendy sweaters made of synthetic materials that only last a season at best, I focus on buying quality cashmere sweaters that will last for years and years. With this in mind, I am more intentional on the sweaters I buy and also make sure they are pieces I know I will like for a long time. It's all about quality over quantity.
One of my favorite places to shop for cashmere is the Bloomingdale's private label cashmere brands - C By Bloomingdale's and Aqua Cashmere. Both lines offer both basic and novelty cashmere and the quality is amazing! Right now is a great time to shop their selection as so many pieces are over 50% off! I have rounded up some of my favorites below!

Happy Friday All! This past week I celebrated my birthday and these were the flowers my husband got me. He seriously spoils me every year with the most beautiful blooms! My birthday was a reminder that it has almost been a year since the pandemic began. Last year, we celebrated my birthday in Paris and it was the last trip we took before everything changed. Just shows how much things can change in a year, both for the positive and negative. Here's to hoping for lots of positive changes in the next year! Wishing you all an amazing MLK weekend!
Was very excited about this announcement!
