Holiday Plaid 3
Plaid: Old Navy, Sweater: Target (similar), Pants: Seven For All Mankind, Shoes: Jcrew, Clutch: Old Navy
When it comes to dressing for Thanksgiving, I prefer to keep things more casual and think a cozy plaid is the perfect way to be comfortable and festive. I picked up this one from Old Navy and chose to pair it with a cropped sweater and my favorite leather-like pants for a dressy casual look. I love how the addition of the cropped sweater elevates the look and it has been my new go-to way to add extra layers without feeling bulky.

Shawl Coat 2
Coat: Forever 21, Dress: Fifth Label, Belt: Asos, Shoes: Jcrew, Purse: Chanel, Lipstick: Mac Rebel
I am in love with the oversize shawl coat I am wearing in this outfit. I had been looking for one for some time and finally came across this one. And, it is perfect! The quality is so good for the price and it quickly has become my everyday coat. While I have been wearing it daily, my favorite way to wear it is dressed up like this with a more structured dress. It’s just so lady like and chic! Have a great weekend!

Cranberry Moscow Mule

Moscow Mule 1

With holiday parties just around the corner, I want to share a festive drink to add to your cocktail repertoire. Moscow mules are my favorite cocktail, so I chose to do a variation on this classic drink. I think of cranberries as the fruit of the holiday season, so I paired the two for a refreshing twist. To make, combine 1/2 oz cranberry sauce, 8 oz ginger beer, and 1 1/2 oz vodka, and top with a squeeze of lime juice. The result is a festive cocktail that balances sweet and tart.

Fur Vest 1
Vest: Target, Sweater: Gap, Pants: Jcrew, Boots: Blondo, Necklace: Julie Vos, Purse: Chanel
I spent my weekend back home in Minnesota and it was cold! As you can tell from the pictures, there was also lots of snow. When I packed for this trip, I made sure to pack lots of layers, including this fur vest, to combat the weather. I had been looking for a faux fur vest for a long time and this one is so good. Unlike other ones I looked at, this one is high quality and a great price. I have been pairing it with everything from jeans to dresses.

Dress: Asos, Jacket: Victoria's Secret, Clutch: Old Navy, Necklace: Forever 21, Shoes: Jcrew
Happy Monday All! The weather has cool down in New York, so it is finally tights weather. As much as I love to go bare legged all summer long, I always secretly look forward to when I cans wear tights again. Expect to see a lot of outfits with tights over the next few months :)

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this picture I posted a couple weeks ago. I had made these baked pumpkin donuts after owning a donut pan for some months and not yet using it. I picked this recipe for its use of pumpkin. I love all things pumpkin, so when it’s in season during the fall months, it’s all I want to have. The donuts ended up being even better than I had hoped and were a great treat for breakfast.

Walk on the Boardwalk

Monday, November 3, 2014

Top: Loft, Pants: Jcrew, Boots: Stuart Weitzman, Purse: Clare Vivier, Necklace: Vintage
Instead of dressing up for Halloween this year, my boyfriend and I decided to leave New York and go to Atlantic City. It was a nice getaway from the city and as I had never been to Atlantic City, it was good to finally visit. On Saturday, we spent part of the day walking along the boardwalk though it was a little windier than we had anticipated. I chose to wear this sweater shirt combo that I have been obsessed with and my favorite 5050 boots. Paired together, they made for an easy outfit for an afternoon along the boardwalk.
