ranunculus
via
This week has been one of those weeks where before you know it, it’s Friday. It was a week that was  busy, but not too busy. The things that needed to get done, got done and at the end of the day, there was still some time to relax. It was the type of week I wish every week would be. Going into the weekend now, I hope to keep up this balance between getting things done and relaxing. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

P.S. The flowers in the photo are ranunculus and I am currently obsessed with them!

budget or covet bucket bag copy
Mansur Gavriel took the fashion world by storm last year with the release of their sleek leather handbags with colorful interiors. One of the most popular bags of their line was this bucket bag with its chic look and contemporary style. While this bag is minimal at its best and is priced much better than other designer bags, it is still on the high-end. For a much lower price, Old Navy offers a bucket bag that comes in a similar blue hue. While it may not be as sleek as the Mansur Gavriel, it portrays a similar style and is much friendlier to your wallet.

Broccoli rabe is a vegetable I never ate until college. It wasn’t because I didn’t like it, but rather that I did not know of its existence. I first discovered it when reading through some of Deb’s recipes and was intrigued to try this unknown vegetable. Since that time, I have prepared it in a variety of ways with this pasta recipe being one of my favorite preparations as it combines the heat/spice of Italian sausage with the bitterness of the broccoli rabe.

Jumpsuit 2 copy
Jumpsuit: Rebecca Minkoff, Sporty: Target and Vince, Classic: Target and French Connection, Edgy: HM and Steve Madden

The jumpsuit was a style I questioned at first. I really did not know what to think about it, and was not sure if it was something I could pull off or would wear that often. Fast forward to now and I am all about the jumpsuit. With so many different styles in stores now, I picked one of my current favorites and styled it three different ways to show you just how versatile it can be in your closet.

Vest: Old Navy (similar), Coat: Jcrew, Sweater: Gap, Jeans: Else, Boots: Hunter, Necklace: Bauble Bar, Watch: Michele, Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren
The puffer vest is a great layer for those cooler Fall days where you need that extra layer. However, the season for wearing it is often short and your vest gets little use once winter sets in, especially this year with the polar vortex. To help maximize my puffer vest this year, I have started to layer it over one of my favorite wool winter coats to add texture and a sporty effect to an otherwise dressier coat.

Clinique recently released a new line of superprimers and I must say they really are super. Beyond creating a smooth canvas for you to apply your makeup too, these primers also help aid in other skin issues you may be facing as well. From redness to dullness to other issues, these superprimers will bring you one step closer to that perfect, flawless skin finish. Isn’t that what we all want?!? Check out more details on these superprimers here.

Blue Shirt//Necklace//Yellow Sweater//Shorts//Clutch//Pants//Hat//Hair Ties

The weather this weekend is suppose to hit the 50s, and just thinking about it is putting me in the mood for Spring clothing, specifically bold, bright colors. Jcrew currently has lots of great pieces to fill this craving. Each of these pieces, besides the shorts, can be worn now separately to add a punch of color to your outfit and later on together for some full on color.

Mulled wine is a popular drink around Christmas time, but I believe it is perfect all winter long as well. It’s so simple to make with this recipe and leaves such a heavenly scent throughout your home, you may find yourself making it too often (if that's possible). I love it for a relaxing night in watching a movie or sitting in front of a fire place, if you are lucky enough to have one!

bar cart
via
The bar cart returned to popularity some seasons ago and I have admired its old school style and retro feel from the beginning. However, limited space in my New York City apartment has made it difficult to invest in such a piece. Target though has me rethinking this decision. I have admired this bar cart of theirs for months, as it combines style with a budget friendly price, and think it may be time for me to rearrange some furniture to make some space. What do you think of the bar cart trend?

And, to go along with the cart, check out some of my favorite bar accessories below.

Sweater: Gap, Shirt: Old Navy (similar), Pants: Jcrew, Boots: Hunter, Watch: Michelle, Lips: Nars in Yu, Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren
The winter weather on the East Coast this year has been never ending and has me in a neutral wearing rut. So to break out of it, I have been incorporating some neon accents to help add some color back into wardrobe.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I just love the fact that Valentine’s Day is on a Friday this year as it makes such a sweet ending to the work week. While I have no exciting Valentine’s Day plans for the actual day, my boyfriend and I will be spending the weekend in Vermont skiing and have planned to do dinner up there tomorrow night. I am happy to be getting away from the city, and after all the snow the East Coast has received this year, it will be nice to actually take advantage of it. Plus, watching the Winter Olympics has made me anxious to get outside and be active in the snow. I guess it’s Winter Olympics fever. Anyways, wishing you all a very happy Valentine’s Day and a fabulous weekend!

Being someone who loves anything sweet, I love all the candy and baked goods surrounding Valentine's Day. One of my favorite items to make though are heart shaped sugar cookies frosted in pink, red, and white, and topped with sprinkles. They are sweet and delicious and perfect to share with loved ones!

Sweater: Forever 21, Pants: Seven For All Mankind, Boots: Stuart Weitzman, Purse: Stella McCartney, Sunglasses: Ralph Lauren
I always look forward to all the paraphernalia surrounding Valentine's Day as I am a sucker for most things pink and with hearts. Therefore, it is no surprise that around this time of year I often find myself investing in pinks and reds and things with heart motifs. This sweater I picked up last year and it is one of my favorite Valentine’s Day pieces with its easy style and cute graphic. This year I am loving this one and this one and I just might have to add one of them to my closet.
