The last couple days have been full of lots of snow on the East Coast, so I have been spending my days inside staying warm and cozy. On Winter days like these, hot chocolate is one of my favorite things to have. This last time I made some, I decided to make the hot chocolate healthier by substituting almond milk for whole milk. Then to add a twist, I spiced the hot chocolate with chipotle and cinnamon to balance out the richness of the chocolate. The result was a healthier version of a favorite decadent and delicious treat!

I bought this coat a couple weeks back and because of my busy schedule as of late, I pulled it out for the first time to wear this weekend. It is a similar color to another coat of mine, but it’s fuzzy texture really distinguishes it from other coats. It’s texture is also the reason I love this coat so much. It’s so cozy and warm, that I love wrapping myself in it, and I can see it becoming a go-to for quick errands and lazy days.

Happy Friday all! It’s hard to believe that my trip to Florida was two weeks ago! I wore this outfit on my last day of the trip and am obsessed with this jumpsuit. I had been looking for a jumpsuit for a long time, but had a hard time finding one that fit well and wasn’t crazy expensive. This one though is affordable, fits well, and I love the chevron pattern. A win, win, win! I can’t wait to pull it out again once the weather get warmer in New York!

When I was home over the holidays, my sister made this potato leek soup recipe for our family and it was a hit! For a twist from the original recipe, she topped the soup with pomegranate seeds and pancetta and it really elevated the flavors to another level. I have since made the soup back in New York and it’s the perfect dinner after a cold winter day.

Happy Monday everyone and I hope everyone who has the day off, enjoys it! I still have an outfit from my trip to Florida to share, but I thought today I would share this outfit full of Winter neutrals. When we are in the of dead winter, I often find myself wearing lots of dark tones. To break this trend, I have been trying to incorporate lighter neutrals like creams, grays, and blush tones for a light and fresh feel. While it’s not the same as warm weather, these lighter tones do help me fight the winter blues.
