I have always loved squash and see it as a quintessential fall food. I usually enjoy my squash in the same forms each fall either in soup, pasta, or just with a little butter and brown sugar. While these preparations are delicious, sometimes change can be good. So, when I purchased an acorn squash recently, I decided I wanted to find a new and different way to cook/prepare it. I ended up coming across this acorn squash quesadilla recipe and knew it was the change I had been looking for. The spice of the peppers and chiles perfectly compliment the sweetness of the squash and the addition of a crispy tortilla and gooey cheese finishes off the dish.

Over the weekend, I took a quick trip home. I saw my parents and extended family, ate great food, relaxed, enjoyed some shopping, got a long over due haircut, stopped by Target, and saw some gorgeous fall leaves. Usually by this time of the year, the fall leaves in Minnesota/Wisconsin, I live on the border of the two, have already fallen, but for some reason this year they held out a little longer. I think they were just waiting for me to come home and see them ;)

When it comes to pant bottoms, I am pretty predictable and often stick to a skinny shape and solid color. After recently feeling uninspired with my pant collection, I decided I needed to venture beyond my normal bottoms and find a good print pant - something not too crazy and still in neutral tones. In my search, I came across these black watch plaid pants and knew they were what I was looking for. The colors were not too much in navy, black, and green, and they paired well with my existing wardrobe. A crucial element when adding something new to your closet.
