Monkey Bread Muffins

This past weekend my boyfriend and I hosted an intimate brunch for a couple of friends. For the menu, we did eggs, waffles, bacon, mimosas, and these monkey bread muffins. If you have never heard of monkey bread, it’s like the inside of a cinnamon roll with all its cinnamony and caramel goodness. I followed this monkey bread recipe, but chose to bake them in a muffin pan instead of a bundt pan, so each person could have their own portion. I originally started to drizzle them with the cream cheese frosting, but worried some people might not like it. So I ultimately served the frosting on the side and gave my guests the option to dip the monkey bread pieces in the frosting, if they so liked. All in all, they were the star of the brunch and will certainly be a brunch mainstay for future brunches we host.
