Being an American and living in New York, it is hard to overlook today’s date, September 11th. On that eventful day years ago, I remember being in school when the teacher announced the first plane crashing into one of the World Trade Towers and then minutes later telling us of the second. It was a day that would change American history, and at the time being so young, I did not truly understand the magnitude of what had happened. Now that more years have passed than I was old at the time, I know the impact that day had on history, both now and in the future. That day will forever be in my mind as if it was yesterday. It is a day no American will forget, especially those who lost loved ones. And, it is a day heroes were made and patriotism was shown. God bless America!

Remember last week when I mentioned it was my boyfriend’s birthday, here? Well, after he casually requested he wanted an ice cream cake for his birthday, I could not resist the challenge. After some research, I decided to follow this recipe as a guideline, but changed it up by switching the vanilla ice cream for this peanut butter recipe and sprinkling the top with Reese’s. The birthday boy was more than pleased with his cake, and it received rave reviews. This cake is a must for any chocolate peanut butter lovers out there!
