Jacket: Bar III, Shirt: Heidi Merrick, Jeans: Old Navy, Clutch: Clare Vivier, Watch: Michele, Shoes: Jcrew
I am a lover of all things striped, so I was excited when I got this shirt last month as a birthday present. It has all the best qualities of a striped shirt - a loose, oversize fit and silky, soft fabric. I paired mine here with a moto jacket, but it could just as easily be worn alone or with a skirt instead. It’s the versatility of this and other striped shirts that make them a staple in my wardrobe.

I am officially over all this cold weather and am ready for warm weather and Spring clothing. I always look forward to adding a couple new dresses for Spring, and this year there are lots of great options to choose from already. Pink has been one of my favorite colors as of late and this Red Valentino dress is a stunner! And, it’s floral print adds an extra dose of charm. At a fraction of the price though, this Gap dress has the same cut and a similar pink shade and floral pattern. Whether you choose to budget or covet, either dress would be a great closet addition for Spring.

The weather last week in New York was brutally cold, so I was happy that the weather warmed up over the weekend. These photos were taken on Saturday and I had thought we would beat the snow, but just as we left, it started to snow and was coming down hard. While the snow can be pretty, it was flying all over the place with the wind and made for less than ideal photo conditions. Given all that, I chose to keep this outfit simple and ladylike with all black and a white topped with a pale pink coat to break things up. While I normally would not wear something like this in these conditions, I would wear it for work and on the weekends when I feel like putting in the extra effort.

During our trip to Italy in the Fall, I fell in love with the pairing of Parma Ham, a specific type of prosciutto, and buffalo mozzarella. Consequently, since this trip, every time I am in the neighborhood of Eataly, I can’t resist stopping in to get some of each. The last time I did this, I ended up buying too much parma ham, and chose to use the left overs for a brunch crostini. To make, I used toasted baguette slices and topped them with ricotta, the Parma Ham, sliced pears, a pinch of Maldon salt, and a drizzle of olive oil and honey. The result was a simple dish full of flavor and a perfect balance between savory and sweet. Next time, I will be buying extra Parma Ham on purpose.

It was freezing in NYC this weekend, so when I did venture outside, I made sure to stay bundled up. This coat kept me warm and I love that it’s navy with black piping. I already own a number of black winter coats, so this navy one is a good addition and pairs just as well with the neutrals in my closet.

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and if you are still looking for last minute gift ideas for friends and family, I recommend making these M&M cookies. They don’t take long to bake up and with the pink, red, and white M&Ms are a festive sweet treat. If you want take them a step further, you can put the cookies in treat bags with other Valentine’s candy for an even more special gift. I hope you all have a great weekend and a fantastic Valentine’s Day!

Blush Crush
DRESS//SCARF//BLOUSE//CANDLE//IPHONE CASE//CLUTCH//WATER BOTTLE//FLATS//NAIL POLISH//EARRINGS//CROSS BODY BAG
As of late, I have been seriously crushing on blush tones! It’s partly driven by a certain pink themed holiday coming up, Valentine’s Day, but also by how this color works so well as a neutral. As much as I try to add color to my wardrobe, it is mostly made up of cream, black, camel and gray, and now I need to add some blush. This scarf will be the perfect extra layer for Spring. How cute is this water bottle?!? It will definitely help me stay hydrated. And, you can’t miss this pretty blush cross body.

Happy Monday everyone! It’s hard to believe how quickly this year is already flying by and that Valentine’s Day is this coming weekend! I go back and forth on dressing for Valentine’s Day each year. Some years, I choose to really get into the holiday with a pink or red dress, but it isn’t always practical to get a new dress for the holiday. This year, I have decided to keep my overall look simple like something I would normally wear out and just add a pop of red for some Valentine’s Day spirit. It’s easy and makes for a look that can be worn once the holiday has past.

Winter white has been a big trend this season, so after pulling out my white jeans for my trip to Florida a couple weeks ago, I thought I would incorporate them into my winter wardrobe where possible. I have been wearing lots of black during this winter, so to change things up I paired my white jeans with all black for a chic, casual outfit. The pop of white really broke up a normal all black outfit and is new way for me to re-invent my winter uniform.
